Officer Information

Your board members have been working tirelessly for the past 2 years to connect to alums in the state, welcome a new collegiate chapter, establish an ongoing tradition of Founder's Day celebrations, participate in The Arthritis Foundation's "Jingle Bell Run," fundraising, and more!  After 2 years of learning the ropes of to efficiently run a fun alum group, we realize it takes a TEAM to run our organization. We hope you'll consider being a part of thiS TEAM vision and will assist in the alum leadership as we move forward!

Listed below for your information and consideration, are the primary responsibilities of the 4 elected board positions:


The office of PRESIDENT of the Portland Alumnae Chapter involves attending & participating in 4 comprehensive board meetings to plan for collegiate and alum events for the year; periodic email communication with board members; communications with members and Headquarters; oversee publishing yearly newsletters; complete yearly membership reports to Headquarters; and advocate for the chapter. This is a 2 year commitment.  


The office of VICE PRESIDENT of the Portland Alumnae Chapter involves attending & participating in 4 comprehensive board meetings to plan for collegiate and alum events for the year; periodic email communication with board members; standing in for the President in her absence; chairing either the PROGRAMMING CHAIR/SOCIAL CHAIR or MEMBERSHIP CHAIR; and advocate for the chapter. This is a 2 year commitment.  


The office of SECRETARY of the Portland Alumnae Chapter involves attending & participating in 4 comprehensive board meetings to plan for collegiate and alum events for the year; periodic email communication with board members; compiling and publishing a yearly newsletter; completing yearly updates to To Dragma; record minutes at board meetings; work with the MEMBERSHIP CHAIR to compile a membership directory; and advocate for the chapter. This is a 2 year commitment.  


The office of TREASURER of the Portland Alumnae Chapter involves attending & participating in 4 comprehensive meetings to plan for collegiate and alum events for the year; periodic email communications with board members; collection & deposit of dues; work with the board to create a yearly budget; prepare quarterly financial statements and share statements with the board & membership; collection of funds at fundraising events; and advocate for the chapter. This is a 2 year commitment.

The Portland Alumnae Chapter is accepting membership dues for the upcoming year now until Founder's Day February 18, 2018. We are extending the membership drive so feel free to bring your dues to the Willamette Heritage Center's "Spinning Room" or pay now.
